Gary from Tubbs blast from the past
Gary from tubbs has just had this lucky find on ebay of all places, to most this is just another early beetle with the rat look treatment but read on. Back in in the late eighties this is the car Gary built in his garage, got featured in Volksworld Magazine and Keith suemes Cal look handbook and then unfortunately sold to start his VW workshop Tubbs. The chances of finding your old car after 21years without it being scrapped, rotted away or turned into a chicken coup is getting less and less. Gary is already in the process of stripping it down and restoring it back to it's former glory, luckily it is still very solid and should be road going for our Back 2 Basics show if not before.

Dylan's car
Out of hibernation at last and into the garage. This ex show car built by machine 7 is now in for a revamp, take a long hard look at this picture because it wont look like this any more when done, will keep you informed as and when we know more.
Tony's one owner from new 1967 split screen van, he's in the process of stripping the van to bare metal and replacing every part that has a sniff of rust. As you can see progress is moving on swiftly and the van will hopefully be ready for the middle of the year, see back here soon for an update.

Ben McIntosh and the McDonalds crew have just acquired this 1972 GT Beetle and intend to have it up and running for the 2009 show season, it needs a fair bit of work but they're not deterred and are full steam ahead. Planned colour is possibly going to be satin black/red, classic hot rod colours you can't go wrong. The Nova boys won't know what's hit them!

Dave Harnett's other bug
The bug is having/had nearly every panel you can buy for it and isn't far off having all the welding finished.

Bear's ex-beetle cup Herbie race car, in for a full resto after living outside in the garden for 10 years, welding by Bug Shak, paint by The Original Tubbs and mechanicals by WagenHaus should be race/road ready before Crimbo and on track 2009.
Update 1st October; After having new heater chanels, rear quarters, front and rear inner wings, deck lid, bonnet, front and back valances and spare wheel well welded in, car is now at Tubbs and in primer ready for its new paint.
Update 6th December; car now had extensive bodywork and going to paint shortly. Well it's not going to be finished for Crimbo but progress is moving on.
25th Jan car in paint, engine to be fitted, front beam out to check, new bushes etc all around sticker it up still a fair bit to do!

Bear's 1960 Chevy - I know it's not VW but it is on air and will sit pretty low, plans are to keep it ratty for 2009 and next winter make it look like the picture below, it'll be my tow car for the race car above and is currently in WagenHaus's workshop awaiting its start date in January.

Car so far has had a body off, chassis shot blasted, air bags fitted, bulk head, dash, underbody and chassis painted before being loosely reassembled.
Maybe one day it'll look like this.
