What a year 2009 was our own show invited to town carnivals and the list continues with invites to shows in 2010, that's the impact you as members have achieved this year with your crazy cars, crazy ideas and helpfull antics excellent work dudes, well here's a few pics from the year below lets make 2010 even better.

Back 2 Basics complete success
Over 400 guests turned up for our 1st ever vee dub show, and all seemed happy and glad to be at the 1st one. Obviously we had hick ups and we've lots to learn from it but we think it went ok all the same. I have put some pics up the show page and have a few more to follow, the date has been set for next year and we will have camping aswell this time. So thanks to all that were involved in organising and visiting the show without you there would not even be a show cheers Bear and Shell.
Show website now up and running www.vwshow.co.uk
Status vw show and club sponsor
Yes Status vw now offer discounts for Lowlife members and all members will shortly be registered with them to qualify, Shelly will be dealing with this after our show on Sunday. Talking about the show and again Status vw have come up trumps again by sponsoring our spoof drag racing with an overal winning prize of a £50 gift voucher for best time.. we will try and update you with more member offers as they happen.
The Original Tubbs sponsors the lowlife event
Today Banbury's most established vw repair garage has become the title sponsor for our Back 2 Basics show adding major prizes to the raffle and supplying the voluntary staff with show t-shirts for the day. Gary at tubbs continues to offer discounted rates for lowlife members aswell for anything air or watercooled related call him on 07974 368890 for any work you need carrying out.

Vanfest next and I know a lot of you are going to this one, don't forget your own show though a week later on the 20th should be a good showing we've had loads of clubs contact us to say there coming and loads of traders are giving there support on our first show as well. See you there!

Southam Carnival
Bank Holiday Monday and we were invited to join the Southam Carnival to boost the procession. There were 11 of us made up of 4 Beetles, 1 Chesil Speedster, 2 Mk3 Golf Cab's, 1 Caddy plus Split, Bay and Wedge buses to complete our line up, most people enjoyed our envolvement and it got us a higher profile picking up several new members for the club while there. Thanks to all who put the effort in it was much appreciated cheers - Bear

Martin's shock appearence
Martin is to make a shock appearance in his stuka baby beetle at this coming week's club meet - it does exist I've seen it, it's nice to see these old cars making it back out on the road again, if only I can get my finger out and get mine there, at best probably 1st week of June!..... Please keep in mind everyone if your going to Bug Jam this year they will only accept club camping if we pay in advance, so cough up as soon as poss so we can get it booked, sorry!! see you all Tuesday.

3rd May - Butty Run/Stanford Hall
9:30am at the Butty Run and it was already packed with a mixture of cars, but one of the stars this week was the Wagenhaus car with its hot rod styling good one Lowlife we stop tracks wherever we go. At about 12 the custom car lot departed for the Kit Car Show and we departed for Stanford Hall's VW Show. On arrival you could see how popular this show really is as the car parks were heaving, and although this show is primarily a classic show there were many modified cars in the show and definitely in the car parks. Dean had his split screen type 2 van in the show and shine and also his mate Baron Von Krunken had his split van and 1950's ambulance in there too, we seem to have something at every show at the moment. I have put a couple of pic's of the Butty Run and of the Stanford Hall show enjoy...... by the way the Butty Run crowd have hinted that they may show an appearance at our club meet on the 12th so let's give them something to see.

Weekend 24/25/26th April - Big Bang
Thanks everyone for inviting all those people to my birthday party, and as 6000 people enjoyed themselves, some to excess on Friday it was just the warm up for Saturday and the main night of the weekend. Lowlife excelled themselves again and went to town on there 80's themed outfits and pic's have already been posted on the ready 2 glow website, oh dear!! We had 12 vehicles on the club camping site and several turned up on the Sunday and with 5 of us entering the show and shine arena to promoted the club, it worked as Ciaran's car had people taking pic's all day for his crazy display and the others also for there quirky crazy cars. I think I can say we all had a great time and I know I can't wait for the next one

Tuesday 14th April - Cruise night
It was a nice bright night and the weather looked good, that was until we got ready to leave then down came the rain, but fun was still had and with 20 cars in the Lowlife cruise over to Arden vw club it was a good showing. We must say a big thank you to Arden vw club for being very welcoming and we all hope you'll come over to us soon, roll on the next one.

Sunday 5th April - Butty Run

Sunday 29th March - Volksworld show
After having a disaster getting there, accelerator cable snap and huge traffic jams, we eventually arrived. The show was good but not exceptional and in my opinion was too much of the same as always. There were incredible cars and the quality was second to none but many of the unusual cars that bring change and spark the fire in new innovators were down stairs not upstairs in the main area, the saying goes if your face don't fit and all that. Perhaps Volksworld needs new blood or somebody who can see outside the box, everyone we spoke to said the same but the show was well run and very professional. Volksworld take the bit and push our seen forward listen to the majority there are many smaller up and coming new business and individual builders doing great work out there that need your support. All in all it was a great day out though and enjoyable to see so many lowlifers there. See you at the next meet - Bear
Sunday 22nd February - Dub Freeze
I bought some rubbish at the show as always and I'm sure some of you did too, good to see some of you there good times. And we had a right laugh filming the journey home for the end of year lowlife video I can't wait to see the end result in a few months. Here's a couple of pic's of some of the sights.

Tuesday 17th February- Club meeting
Nice vans, two new members, splitty van and mk3 golf van, cant wait for summer when we have all the vehicles here.

Sunday 1st February - Butty Run
Now the weather has got a bit better the diner was pretty full, good times.

Tuesday 20th January - Club meeting
Great meeting tonight, good turnout as always in these cold times. Another new member tonight joined our growing club and a very nice lowered Golf van it is as well, Steve came in his t25 sounding sweet and the other usual faithfuls also dragged there chariots out to play. Just a quick say also to Filthy Phil, hope your broken back is getting better cause were missing your crazy buggy in these freezing months to keep our spirits up, anyway see you all on the 1st February at the Buttyrun, chow for now!!
Wednesday 31st December/1st January - New Year's Eve Party
Everyone was welcome to bring the New Year in big stylee, nibbles were supplied and lots of drink was drunk to welcome the start of much merriment that was had at Shell's house party. It was a good one as always ask anyone who comes to our parties, and this one was no different lot's of embarrassment and drunken who ha, if you didn't come you really should start getting a life, see you at the next one!!

Thursday 18th December - Christmas Party
The Christmas party season is here and the Christmas Party at Dockers was a good laugh too to start it all off, the food and surroundings made the atmosphere really fun and then a trip into town afterwoods to wash all the food down, excellent, Merry Christmas everyone!!

Sunday 7th December - Butty Run
The Long Itch Diner as you probably know is home to the popular Butty Run meet and brings a variety of cool and unusual vehicles together in one place. This weekend was no exception with the regular VW's and custom vehicles arriving in force along with several new vehicles never before seen at this event. This breakfast get together seems to go from stength to strengh and we hope it will stay that way, the next Butty Run is now in the New Year so lets hope we can put Christmas behind us by then and start the New Year as we mean to go on, this is Bear reporting for LowLife.

Tuesday 2nd December - Club Meet
Nearly at the end of another year, no snow just another wet winter, yet we still turn up on free food night at The Heathcote. The cars are getting thin as winter sets in, but turnout is still good. As you may or may not have heard we have a few new cars in the pipeline being restored or repaired ready for 2009 so all is looking good. Hope to see some of you at the Butty Run on the 7th January, if not see you at the club meet on the 16th. This is Bear with another informative update for LowLife goodnight.

Sunday 30th November - Ansty Cruise
After a greasy fry up for breakfast (not greasy really) and a few mugs of hot tea to warm the cockles we headed off on a cool, cold and chilly cruise to The Sparrow Pub at Ansty. Loads of VW's were there and in attendance were Philthy Phil, Steve, Harriot, Ciaran, Ade, Shelly Belly, Lucy, Dave Harnet (allthough he should be as he's in Hubba Dubba's as well) his girlfriend and of course me, quite a good turn out I thought. Hard to believe so many of you couldn't make it on this chilingly refreshing Sunday run to the PUB!!! You missed a good one. Anyway see you all on Tuesday night at the club meet - this is Bear reporting for LowLife, until next time goodnight.

Tuesday 18th November - Club Meet
Great turnout again for this time of year I reckon, so Stu does still own his bug as he came in it, thought he'd sold it or something. Don't forget the Ansty meet on Sunday 30th November - see events list for more details.
Halloween PartyTime
Good times or bad times, depends on who is asked and what condition they were in Sunday morning. Great costumes, great atmosphere and we hope you liked the setting too. Much drink was drunk and much merriment was had by all, even possible love was in the air? We hope so, you know who you are! There are way to many pics to list here so will put them on facebook site and bring them to the club meet on 18th November see you there.

Monday Night Cruise
It was a great night over at Hubba Dubba's in Hinckley, shame on you who missed it. Hubba Dubba's have a very good turn out and we were mighty impressed here's to the next cruise.

Tuesday 21st October - Club meet
We had a great turnout this week didn't we, it's turned into a vw/hotrod meet, cool. Several of you joined the club this week so your cars will be in members rides shortly and I have again picked a couple of photos to show you below, I hope you all had a good time, probably better than stopping in on a Tuesday eh!

Important info; Wednesday night cruise
This Wednesday we have cancelled the night cruise and moved it to next Monday the 27th see events list for details, sorry for any inconvenience.
A new car for Tuesday's club meet?
A new spruce up for Lyell's car has happened since the last club meet and will be ready for the next meet on 21st Oct, here's a sneak preview as he doesn't want us to show you it finished until Tuesday. Also Stu has defaced Shell's Speedster she's agreed to keep it on till at least Tuesday and one last thing Ciaran should also have his car back for Tuesday, so see you at the Heathcote Inn 7:30pm.

Koolest Krooze
Hi guys, it's Adrian here - came to the meet last week in Woody the
green Westy Bay...
Wondered if you've seen this - looks like it could be a laugh for
those cold winter months - raise some money and perhaps have lunch
somewhere too...
http://www.koolestkrooze.co.uk/home.html
if anyone is interested let marc know and if we get enough interest he will get on with organising it - all the best Ade
Tuesday 7th October - Club meet
The club meet this week was really good with several watercooled models showing their heads as winter aproaches including 3 Golfs, 1 Bora and a Seat? Well it is from the VW family and Shell's Polo, plus we had a new aircooled beetle and camper arrive which haven't been with us before. Hubba dubba club from Hinckley turned up again, I reckon they just like the free food see you next time lads, it was a cool turn out cheers everyone, some pics below.

Sunday 5th October - Butty Run
When the door closes on the final event of the year there is always a yearning to get back out there as soon as the weather comes back, but we live in England, and the weather here is always winter. So as the seasons never end they also never ever start again and the normal hard as nails drivers still turn up in their silly vehicles rain or shine all year round, I think we come into that catergory don't you. Thanks to the organisers who keep putting on this small event and here are a couple of pic's to wet your appetite for next time. A small quote from Philthy Phil - "Bear had a stowaway in his Roadster at the Butty Run! The cat sleeps in it at night & is obviously a heavy sleeper...............until we'd been at the diner for a couple of hours & she decided to make a bolt for freedom."

Quarterly club magazine
1st members magazine well on the way now, should be completed by xmas January at the latest. Anybody that has got any content that could go in it please send on or contact me as any help with anything to do with the club is greatly appreciated, the magazine will be posted to members as soon as completed - BEAR
Tuesday 23rd September - Pub Meet
Are we having fun yet? Club meet this week was dry and brought even more new faces, we had Nigel in his green and white Bay, Zac although already a member came in his very shiny bug and a big thanks for coming goes to the Butty Run organisers that came and showed there support bringing a Zepher and the Razor Edge we've got to show more effort getting our cars to them next time (we showed up with 6 cars last time).
Malc also came from Bug Shak in his T25 Crew Cab we must have nealy a full Volkswagen set now. Well I've put a few pictures on here of the night taken by Philthy Phil to show you some of the new cars and we'll see you at the next one, here's to LowLife.

Sunday 14th September - Vanfest '08
Vanfest '08, as we only went for the day haven't much to say really,
great show loads of stalls, weather stayed dry for the Sunday when we
went. Steve went too so will update this when I speak to him, I think
he's still digging his bus out the mud. In the meantime here are a
few pics of some of the sights we saw.

Tuesday 9th September - Club Meet
Rain, rain, rain it never seems to stop. Good turnout again even if it was half than last time, several new members came and a showing from Hubba Dubba club Hinckley, nice '66 bug. Stu left his '59 at home and came in his Golf bringing a watercooled touch and we all give thanks once again to Bobby for putting on a good spread for us, see you all at the next one.
Sunday 7th September - Butty Run - Long Itchington
Rain never stopped play and thanks to all who made it, cool Sunday morning, cheers.

Friday 29th - Sunday 30th August - VW Action
The weekend of 29-31 August marked the date of the first low life club run @ vw action and boy was it ever a scorcher. The mix of cool dubs and the atmosphere made this show an instant hit with us. There was certainly plenty to see and do and all who came got involved with the club display and entertainment throughout the weekend.

Congratulations to the kids and adults who entered the vw action Olympics and came home with 3 trophies including overall champions.

Thank you to all of you for the effort made in dressing up on the Saturday night for the pyjama party even though it did get messy for some of us by the end ha ha!!

All in all the weekend was incredible fun and we can't wait for the next party outing. Further pictures will be on display at the next meet - oh dear!
Tuesday 26th August - Pub Meet
Wow what a turn out, no rain, cloudy but dry and for our second meet since reforming we had a 14 car turnout and over 25 people. It seemed a good night was had by all who came and a welcome visit by several people from Banbury made the atmosphere even better, it's nice to see our club is growing everyday at the moment. We must also give thanks to Bobby for his support with food and the venue. Many of you are either going to VW Action this weekend or the Butty Run the following weekend or both so see you there, failing that we will see you at the next meet, Marc . . . . . . keep spreading the word!!

Peeping Tom’s Summer BBQ - Wednesday 13th August
To most attending an April Showers BBQ would have been more appropriate, but fun was still had by all who went. Myself, Shelly, Lyell, Lucy, Ozzy, Jim and Craig made the wet weather trip and after several mini breakdowns on the way with Ozzy’s bus we eventually got there. Peeping Tom’s put on a good show of vehicles and the food and hospitality was good too. The rain never stopped but it didn’t dampen our spirits and after an enjoyable night out we ventured home without any fuss to look forward to our next meet at The Heathcote Inn on Tuesday 26th August.

Number 1/Numero Uno - Tuesday 12th August
Excellent I wasn’t made to look a fool as more than 20 people came to our first Low Life vee dub club re-emergence meet, some of you even had working vehicles there. The support was great and ideas for your new club came thick and fast hopefully shaping the way for things to come. Some new and some old Volkswagen members all mixed to give there views on cars in their garages or in the workshops. We also had a representative from GSF and the proprietor of WagenHaus came along to join our club. All agreed they were happy to have a local meet for likeminded people to converse in Volkstalk. Here's to the next one.
